// domain portfolio tracker

every domain you own, in one place.

Most people with more than ten domains cannot say what they spend on them a year, which registrar holds what, or which ones renew next month. Owndle is the tracker that answers all three — across 18 registrars, without needing a login to any of them.

what it actually does

Imports from everywhere. Paste a list, upload a CSV, or connect Cloudflare with an API token. Owndle then enriches every domain from the authoritative registry over RDAP — expiry date, nameservers, DNSSEC, WHOIS privacy status, and which registrar the domain is actually registered through. That last one catches more people than you would expect: reseller arrangements mean the company billing you is often not the name in the record.

Prices every domain against the market. Each domain is compared against our cross-registrar renewal price catalog, so you see not just what you pay but what the same domain costs at the cheapest registrar we track, and the annual difference. That is renewal arbitrage, and it is the single biggest recoverable cost in most portfolios.

Watches the dates. Alerts at 90, 30, 7 and 1 days before each renewal, by email and push. The 90-day alert is the one that matters — it is early enough to actually transfer a domain before renewal rather than paying the dear price and moving afterwards.

Tells you what to do with each one. Every domain gets a recommendation — keep, transfer, list for sale, park or drop — based on renewal cost, an estimated resale value and whether you are using it. Portfolios accumulate; this is how you prune one without second-guessing every decision.

who it is for

  • Founders with a domain per idea. Twenty to fifty names spread over half a dozen registrars, bought over years, never audited.
  • Agencies holding client domains. A missed renewal on a client’s domain is not an inconvenience, it is a phone call you never want to make. Tags, CSV export and hourly refresh live on the higher tiers.
  • Domain investors. Renewal cost is the entire margin on a speculative portfolio. Owndle prices every name against the cheapest registrar and flags the ones not worth renewing.
  • Developers who would rather not open a dashboard. The CLI and MCP server put the whole portfolio behind npx owndle or an agent prompt.

when owndle is the wrong answer

If every domain you own is at one registrar and you are happy with the price, your registrar’s own dashboard is fine and free. If you need for-sale landing pages and a sales pipeline for a large investment portfolio, a domain-investor platform will serve you better — owndle values domains but does not sell them for you. And under about ten domains, honestly, a calendar reminder works.

questions people actually ask.

What is a domain portfolio tracker?

A tool that keeps one inventory of every domain you own, wherever it is registered, and watches the things that cost you money if you miss them: renewal dates, renewal prices, and whether a cheaper registrar exists for the same domain. It replaces the spreadsheet most people maintain badly.

Does it work with domains at different registrars?

That is the point of it. Owndle reads registration data directly from each TLD's authoritative registry over RDAP, so it does not need an account at your registrar to see expiry dates, nameservers and who the domain is registered through. Paste a list, upload a CSV, or connect Cloudflare directly.

How is this different from my registrar's dashboard?

Your registrar can only show you the domains it holds, and it has no commercial reason to tell you a competitor renews the same domain for less. A cross-registrar tracker sees the whole portfolio and can compare prices in both directions — that neutrality is the entire value.

Is there a free version?

Yes — the free tier tracks 10 domains with weekly refreshes and renewal alerts, with no card required. Paid tiers start at £9/month for 25 domains with daily refreshes, up to 200+ domains with hourly refreshes on the top tier.

Can I use it from the command line or from an AI agent?

Yes. Owndle ships a CLI and an MCP server, so Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client can audit your renewal costs, list domains and manage a watchlist directly. There is also a Bearer-authenticated REST API on paid tiers.
